Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington is a Greek American author syndicated columnist and businesswoman. She is the co-founder and CEO of Thrive Global, as well as the author of fifteen books. Arianna Huffington is an independent liberal news website has a TV personality, author, and charitable donor. Her birthplace is Greece Arianna Huffington emigrated to England together with her family around 16 years old. In Cambridge University she earned a MA degree in Economics. At 21 she became president of the renowned debating society The Cambridge Union' and was the first foreign born student to do so. After graduation she made her reputation as a conservative syndicated columnist and when the publication of The Huffington Post' few months later, she created a voice-based website that gave critical opinions regarding the state of affairs. The fame of her name helped in getting several high-profile contributors to share their opinions regarding news in the field of culture and politics. Arianna was famous when she decided to be an independent candidate in the California Recall Election, to succeed Governor Davis. Aside from that she also led the Detroit Project to develop fuel efficient cars. Forbes classified her as the 12th most influential women on the planet in 2009 and Guardian added her to the list of Top 100 media during the same year. AOL Inc. purchased The Huffington Post, and she was made president of this media group. This was a huge acquisition that included a number of AOL brands at the time such as Engadget AOL style list and Patch Media. The parents of her were Elli as well as Konstantinos Stasinopoulos. Konstantinos was a business advisor and journalist. Even though she was in a close relation to her mother and father, it was their bond which shaped her. She displayed leadership qualities at an early age. She moved to England at 16, to pursue her education and enrolled in Girton College Cambridge. She was a member of the Cambridge Union college debate society while in college in which she became the first woman to be elected the president. She graduated in 1972 with the degree of master's in Economics. After graduating, she worked as a critic for a newspaper column and an anchor on a TV show. Additionally, she was a guest with Bernard Levin in an episode of Face the music and started writing books using his editorial assistance.
