April Ross
April Ross has won more than one Olympic gold medal. She is among the few female players of beach volleyball who be able to do so. Alix-Klineman will be competing with Ross at Tokyo to win her third gold in the next few days. Ross is also hoping to win her first Olympic gold. At 39 this may be her final chance to accomplish this. She remains optimistic that she will be able to win top awards. If we do our best or even if we perform well, I think we'll be able to win that gold medal Ross declared on NBC Boston. In addition, I'll try the chance to have chances. Ross born the 22, 1982, in Costa Mesa California. She resided in the area along with her entire family. Ross was a competitive athlete in a variety of activities while at Newport Harbor High School. She competed in basketball and track in addition to her indoor volleyball achievements as a pre-collegiate athlete. Although she was a pro in indoor volleyball however, it was evident that her skills were above the average. In her own biography, during high school she played volleyball as an outside setter (middle blocker) as well as a the setter (outside blocker). In recognition of her work she was awarded in 1999 as the Gatorade Champion of Champions Circle of Champions Player of the Year. The 2000 Orange County Athlete of the Month was also received by her in volleyball. Ross and Klineman are continuing to play in 2017. However, Ross was a major player on the beach volleyball circuit before joining the duo. In fact, she won multiple major tournaments in the past with two different partners. one of which is the volleyball legend. For six years from 2007-2013 she played alongside Jennifer Kessy who more recently served as her and Klineman's coach. Together, Kessy Ross, she was a major force on the international stage, claiming a world title in 2009. The pair eventually picked up a silver medal at the 2012 Olympic Games in London. Misty Maytreanor's legendary team along with Kerri Jennings were the winners of gold. Ross was Walsh Jennings new partner after May-Treanor's departure. Together, they took home bronze medals in beach volleyball for the Rio Olympics of 2016. Ross began her collegiate professional career playing for the Trojans of USC in her high school days. This was years before Ross went to the beach and became a professional. Her experience at USC was awe-inspiring. In her first year at the school, 2000 saw her earn the Pac-10 and NCAA Freshman of the Year awards and be an All-American. Additionally, she was a key player in helping the Trojans to make it to it to the Final Four. She suffered a devastating personal loss in her sophomore season however she was able to return her place as an All-American. Over her final two years as a player, she led the Trojans up to the top of the mountain winning successive national titles. The individual accomplishments of her have established her as a volleyball legend. She was awarded the Honda Sports Award 2003-04 for the top female NCAA player. Ross was a student at USC in International Relations. Margie Ross was never able to see her daughter reach the top in beach volleyball. Ross's mother Margie died in 2001. Ross was still in the midst of being a USC sophomore. The cancer was diagnosed as breast. However, she continues to hold her lost parent near and dear. Margie is a source of inspiration both in her personal life and at the beaches.
