Anna Paquin
Anna Paquin, a Canadian-New Zealander actor. She was born in Winnipeg and born in Wellington Paquin was able to make her acting debut in the role of Flora McGrath in the romantic drama film The Piano for which she was awarded the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress aged 11 years old, which makes her the second youngest winner in Oscar history. Anna Paquin's full title is Anna Helene Paquin. Born July 24th 1982 on the 24th of July 1982 in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada, she was an Canadian birthed New Zealand actress. As a child, Paquin won her the Academy Award for best support actress. Her role as the empathetic and curious young girl Holly Hunter played in The Piano (1993) earned her the prize. Following a prompt for open auditions when she was nine, and with little prior experience acting, she won Flora McGrath's part. Flora is the daughter of a Scottish musician who was blind. The couple moved from Scotland to New Zealand during the middle of the nineteenth century in an effort to get married. At the age of a teen the family relocated from Canada and eventually to United States. Paquin was chosen to play the role of the child in Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre in 1996. In addition, she played a leading part on the screen in Fly Away Home, a film that was released in that same year. Paquin was a part-time actress in the TV film of 1997 adaption of Carson McCullers' novel The Member of the Wedding. She also played the Queen of Spain in Steven Spielberg's Amistad (2007). She played teenage girls in of Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000), A Walk on the Moon (2000) and portrayed her polexia Aphrodisa groupie in Almost Famous (2000).
