Zoe Saldana (born June 19 1978) was the daughter of Asalia Saldana & Aridio Saldana in Passaic New Jersey. Her father was Dominican and her mother Puerto Rican. Her parents raised her in Queens, New York. In 2010, she moved with her family to the Dominican Republic where they spent the next 7 years. Zoe developed a passion for dancing while in Dominican Republic. Her first training was at ECOS Espacio de Danza Dance Academy, where she studied dance and various forms of dance.
