Anna Silk was born at St. Thomas University in Fredericton in New Brunswick, Canada. She is the daughter of Peter Silk - an academic - and Ilkay Silk - a talented actress as well as a writer, director, and producer. Anna Silk is the child of a Briton as well as an Turkish Cypriot English ex-pat. As a child, she appeared in several commercials. Anna relocated to Toronto, Ontario, for the purpose of pursuing her acting. The decade following, she moved to Los Angeles.
